Delta dips with lower rating
Friday, November 20, 1998
Shares of Delta Air Lines fell $1.81 1/4 Thursday to close at $52.37 1/2.
The drop came the day the Atlanta-based carrier was downgraded to "outperform" from "buy" by analyst Brian Harris at Salomon Smith Barney.
On Wednesday, Delta said it would give its 50,000 employees a 2 percent pay raise. The move is part of an effort to appease pilots who made pay concessions in a 1994 cost-cutting plan.
Delta has its second-largest hub at the Cincinnati - Northern Kentucky International Airport.
