MONTGOMERY — When Montgomery Elementary School was built in 1952, there was no traffic load along Montgomery Road. Superintendent Bruce Armstrong said Monday the board is now leaning toward renovating the school at 9609 Montgomery Road, but he said the district won't decide until construction managers and architects are hired. building was specifically mentioned.

Said Montgomery Elementary Principal Michael Pastura: “The superintendent's recommendation at the last board meeting was, let's survey the Montgomery parents to see what they want.”

The school sits on six acres. Mr. Pastura said additions were made in 1961, 1966 and 1984.

In September, the board voted to renovate the school after plans to buy a 16-acre site next to the new city service center and swimming pool at Hopewell and Montgomery roads fell through.

Board member Carol Keller said she has not heard anything about a possible new site for a school. “There isn't any land available,” she said.
