Eight-time DUI driver indicted on 46 charges
Police say he used fake name, license
The Cincinnati Enquirer
BATAVIA A Clermont County grand jury on Wednesday indicted Charles Jodrey on 46 counts of forgery, tampering with evidence and driving under the influence.
Mr. Jodrey has eight DUI convictions and spent 10 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter after a 1984 drunken-driving crash that killed an Anderson Township man. He is being held in the Clermont County Jail in lieu of a $602,000 bond.
In his latest arrest, Mr. Jodrey is accused of giving police false information and using a driver's license with a false name. The indictments cover 32 counts of forgery; eight counts of tampering with evidence; four counts of certificate of motor vehicle title law offenses; one count of DUI; and one count of operating a car without a valid license.
Miami Township police arrested him on Thanksgiving on Ohio 28.
Mr. Jodrey, 55, of Milford, was convicted in 1984 of involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to 10 years in prison in connection with the drunken-driving crash that killed Anderson Township resident Martin Ackermann.
Mr. Jodrey also had been charged by Milford police in August with traffic violations including DUI. Police said his true identity was not known at the time of that arrest because he gave police a false name.
