Park will recycle Christmas trees
Holiday scavenger hunts scheduled

SHARONVILLE -- Area residents are invited to recycle their Christmas trees at Sharon Woods 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Jan. 2.

Trees will be chipped and used in the local park district.

Dropoff is at the Island Grove parking lot.

Holiday Scavenger Hunts at two park locations will include nature questions to answer and check off as participants visit the parks. Farbach-Werner Nature Preserve: today through Wednesday. Lists are available 1-3 p.m. in the Nature's Niche Gift Shop.

Sharon Woods: Monday through Thursday, 2-4 p.m. daily. Lists will be near the Harbor snack bar. Refreshments will be available. Information: 521-7275.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP

-- A New Year's Festival at Winton Woods will be 1-4 p.m. Jan. 2 and 3. The activities will explore the changes in nature throughout the year.

The program will be in the Winton Centre Auditorium.

Admission is free. Parking is $1 daily; $3 annually.
