Kroll gains as move to index nears

Kroll-O'Gara Co. closed Thursday at $36, up 621/2 cents.

The Fairfield-based international supplier of security hardware and services is scheduled to replace Astoria Financial next week on the Standard & Poor SmallCap 600 index.

After trading Tuesday, Kroll-O'Gara will replace Lake Success, N.Y.-based Astoria in the index's consumer cyclicals sector and commercial and consumer services industry group.

Kroll-O'Gara's stock has recovered significantly from a 13-week low of $20.121/2 Oct. 13. It hit a 13-week high of $39.50 on Dec. 30.
