NKU 72, IUPU-FORT WAYNE 69
Conley's big day lifts Norse
The Cincinnati Enquirer
FORT WAYNE, Ind. Sophomore guard Craig Conley scored 23 points and had six assists Saturday as Northern Kentucky University rallied to defeat Indiana-Purdue at Fort Wayne 72-69.
Sophomore guard Brian Lawhon added 18 points, all on three-point shots in the second half, as NKU rallied from a 40-32 halftime deficit. Lawhon made 6-of-13 three-pointers for the game as the Norse won their fifth straight to improve to 9-4 overall, 6-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Brian Lawhon's shooting helped to bail us out in the second half, NKU head coach Ken Shields said. Several of our players, including Brian, are battling the flu, but we showed a lot of determination. This is a huge road win for us, and we're starting to play very well.
NKU plays host to Lewis at 7:45 p.m. Thursday.
