Three ex-officials plead not guilty

        Three former Columbia Township officials pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of stealing township funds.

        All three defendants — James Harmon, Debra Huff and Jeffrey Huff — face felony charges of theft in office and tampering with records.

        The charges were filed in October after a grand jury investigation found that the three officials mishandled or stole about $210,000.

        They initially pleaded guilty to the charges but withdrew the pleas in December after discussions with prosecutors.

        They are to return to Hamilton County Common Pleas Court on Feb. 4 to set a trial date.
