Ft. Washington Way closing for 3 nights this week

Saturday's closing of eastbound Fort Washington Way is a sampling of what's to come next week.
The highway will be shut down in both directions tonight and Tuesday and Wednesday nights as crews set structural beams for a temporary span that will connect the Roebling Suspension Bridge with downtown Cincinnati.
Fort Washington Way will be open for daytime traffic. The new closures will begin at 9 p.m. and will continue until about 5 a.m. the next day.
Northbound Interstate 71 motorists may take the Fifth Street exit just north of the Brent Spence Bridge, cross downtown and take I-71 on the eastern edge of downtown; or continue north on I-75 and connect to I-71 on the Norwood Lateral (Ohio 562); Ronald Reagan Highway (Ohio 126); or Interstate 275.
Southbound I-71 motorists may take the same highways to southbound I-75 and connect back with I-71 at the Brent Spence Bridge; or exit downtown at Gilbert Avenue to Eighth Street, shifting one block north to Ninth Street westbound through downtown to the southbound I-75 entrance ramp, to connect back with I-71 at the Brent Spence Bridge.
Southbound I-75 motorists trying to reach Interstate 471, Columbia Parkway, or northbound I-71 will be detoured to Seventh Street, where they can drop down to Fifth Street and take their respective on-ramps on the eastern edge of downtown.
The eastbound Fort Washington Way exit ramp onto Pete Rose Way will remain open during the closure and can be another option for I-71 northbound travelers, who can take Pete Rose Way east to Broadway, then travel north to Fifth Street and east to the I-71 entrance ramp.
