Fairfield man guilty of corrupting teen girls

BY RANDY McNUTT
The Cincinnati Enquirer

HAMILTON — A 50-year-old Fairfield man pleaded guilty in Butler County Common Pleas Court on Friday to four charges involving three teen-age girls.

Dana L. Goins awaits sentencing for compelling prostitution, corruption of a minor, bribery and illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented ma terial.

Judge H.J. Bressler could order a maximum of 191/2 years in prison and a $40,000 fine.

“The probability is that the court will impose a prison sentence,” Judge Bressler told Mr. Goins at Friday's hearing.

Prosecutors said Mr. Goins paid three girls $50 to $100 — and gave them clothing — to engage in sex acts. The girls — 14, 16 and 17 years old — associated with Mr. Goins from June through October 1998.

Last November, he offered $1,900 to two of the girls to tell conflicting stories to the grand jury, prosecutors said.

At Mr. Goins' residence, authorities found nude photographs of girls, prosecutors said.

He is being held in the Butler County Jail without bond.

This is not the first time Mr. Goins has been arrested for sex-related crimes.

He was convicted on 1981 rape and aggravated burglary charges in Butler County. He served about seven years of a 5- to 25-year sentence before being released in 1988, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

Six months later, he was sent back to prison as a parole violator, after being convicted of public indecency in Hamilton.
