Westwood deaths appear murder-suicide
A Westwood couple were found in their apartment Sunday afternoon in what police said appeared to be a murder-suicide shooting. A daughter found William and Marian Kramer, both 79, shortly after 1 p.m. in their lower-level apartment of a four-unit, brick building in the 3500 block of Schwartze Avenue.
Autopsies were to be performed this morning by the Hamilton County coroner. Police refused to say when the couple were shot.
Sgt. John Newsom of the Cincinnati police homicide unit would not say who shot whom until the autopsies are complete.
He also refused to say whether the couple left a note or whether they suffered from any ailments.
Bill Kramer, one of the couple's four children, said his father was a Cincinnati firefighter for years and his mother was a homemaker.
Mr. Kramer served in the Army during World War II. The couple were lifelong west-side residents.
Few neighbors contacted Sunday knew the couple, except to say they were quiet.
