N.KY. GIRLS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP


Beechwood repeats as conference champion

        Kynley Hobbs and Andrea Arlinghaus each sank a pair of free throws during the final 1:30 to help Beechwood to a 48-42 win Saturday over Bellevue at Beechwood.

        The victory clinched the Division III Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference for Beechwood for the second straight year.

        Beechwood used a 18-6 third-quarter run to open a 14-point lead. Lindsey McDermot led the way with 10 of her 14 points in the quarter.

        • Bishop Brossart 88, Campbell County 40, at Campbell County — Katie Schwegmann scored 12 of her 19 points during a 27-0 first-quarter run when Campbell County went 0-for-18 from the field.

        Cara Kopp (16 points), Katie Wright (17) and Camey Geiman (10) also scored in double figures for Brossart. Lori Franzen paced the Camels with 10 points.

        Stephanie Sandfoss led the Bluebirds with 17 points.
