MIGHTY DUCKS 7, SYRACUSE 4

Hot-scoring Banham nets two more

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Frank Banham scored two goals and Rasto Pavlikovsky had two points on a goal and one assist to lead the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks past the Syracuse Crunch 7-4 Friday night in the American Hockey League.

Cincinnati (24-26-0-4) surpassed its victory total from last season. The Ducks are 9-0 this season in games they score five or more goals.

Banham's two goals gave him 17 on the season, including six in the last four games. His second goal of the game at the 4:10 mark of the third period marked the 400th goal in the two-year Ducks history.

“Syracuse is a desperate hockey team right now chasing us for a playoff spot,” Ducks coach Moe Mantha said. “I told our guys before the game not to take this team lightly. A win meant we were up 18 points on them for that last playoff berth instead of 14, so it was nice to get the two points and get out of Dodge.”
