St. Henry shoots down Ryle, 54-46

        Kate Stanton and Megan Otte converted two free throws apiece during the final 45 seconds, leading St. Henry to a 54-46 victory over Ryle in 33rd District girls basketball action at Conner.

        St. Henry meets Boone County in the semifinals on Thursday (6 p.m.) at Conner.

        • Highlands 57, Newport 37, 36th District at Newport Central Catholic — A three-point field goal by freshman guard Christian Stefanopoulos with two seconds left in the first quarter gave Highlands a 20-10 lead, and the Ladybirds outscored the Lady Cats, 12-2, in the second quarter.

        Highlands meets NewCath in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Thursday, with the winner of that game advancing to next week's Ninth Region tournament at Ryle.
