Sanders leads Norse victory
Freshman forward Craig Sanders scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half as Northern Kentucky avenged two regular-season losses to Indianapolis with a 60-48 victory Thursday over the Greyhounds in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference tournament at Evansville, Ind.
The Norse (16-11) will play today at 9:30 p.m. against the winner of Thursday night's game between Kentucky Wesleyan and Indiana-Purdue/Fort Wayne.
Indianapolis (17-10) was down by one point, 45-44, with 8:07 to play, but scored just one field goal thereafter.
The Norse held the Greyhounds to 29-percent shooting for the game (17 of 58), including 27 percent in the second half (7 of 26).
Craig Conley scored 13 points and Adam Norwell had 11 points and 11 rebounds for NKU.
