Tiger Woods coming to Cincinnati

BY SCOTT MacGREGOR
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Tiger Woods is scheduled to visit Cincinnati for a youth golf clinic the first weekend in May.

The clinic, scheduled for May 2 at Glenview Golf Course in Springfield Township, is one of five Woods will conduct nationally this year. The 125 participants will be chosen from local youth programs, with Woods conducting an exhibition and providing one-on-one instruction to a group of the better golfers.

The clinic and exhibition are part of a two-day program on May 1-2 developed by the Tiger Woods Foundation to introduce inner city children and their families to golf.

Golfers will be chosen from the Tony Yates Golf Academy, which is helping sponsor the weekend, and other organizations in the greater Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus areas that encourage youth golf participation, particularly in inner city areas.

Other programs that weekend include a series of golf-related workshops open to the community — including an informal talk by Earl Woods, Tiger's father — and an auction. Places and times will be announced in the future.
