LEBANON A Harveysburg man died late Wednesday in a one-car accident on U.S. 42 south of Waynesville.
Stephen L. Henderson, 42, was killed about 10:35 p.m. after the 1997 Range Rover he was driving went off the right side of the road, crossed a driveway, hit a guardrail, rolled down an embankment and struck a tree.
Mr. Henderson was northbound on the four-lane highway, police said.
The Warren County coroner pronounced Mr. Henderson dead at the scene at 11:15 p.m., said Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Scott Borden.
It rolled at least one time, he said.
Mr. Henderson was alone in the Range Rover. He was not wearing a seat belt and was not ejected from the sport-utility vehicle, Lt. Borden said.
Early results indicate Mr. Henderson was driving at the posted 55 mph speed limit, Lt. Borden said. The accident remains under investigation.
Wayne Township fire rescue crews, and Clearcreek and Waynesville police responded.
