Schwegmann stays hot for Brossart
To say that Bishop Brossart's Jeff Schwegmann is swinging a hot bat may be the understatement of the 1999 high school baseball season.
Schwegmann smacked two home runs and drove in five runs for the Mustangs Friday in a 15-4 victory over Gallatin County, their fourth win in the first five games.
Schwegmann has now hit three home runs and driven in 11 runs in the last two games.
Newport 8, Beechwood 2 Senior Bryan Atwood's first varsity victory was easier than expected.
In six innings, Atwood allowed only two runs and five hits, giving the Wildcats their third win four games.
Highlands 8, Holmes 5 Coming off a no-hitter on Monday over Dayton, Dustin Class produced another standout performance, a one-hitter Friday against the Bulldogs.
Matthew Barone and Derrik Moeves delivered with the bat for the Highlands, each driving in two runs.
