Family faces 2nd tragedy
Another death, another mystery
BY JANICE MORSE
The Cincinnati Enquirer
HAMILTON The family of a Butler County woman, whose death is presumed a homicide, needs help to pay for her funeral.
She didn't have any insurance or anything, said Jerry Simpson of Trenton, brother of Tammy Esther McClellan, the 36-year-old Hanover Township woman whose body was found Saturday in a Hamilton park.
Hamilton police suspect someone killed Ms. McClellan. The Butler County Coroner's Office had no information to release.
If her death is a homicide, it would be the second in her family, Mr. Simpson said. He said his brother, Clayton Adams, was shot to death and dumped in a ditch in 1974.
And they never did find out who did that, Mr. Simpson said.
Ms. McClellan, who was divorced, lived in the Island Lake Mobile Home Park off U.S. 127 with her daughters, ages 7 and 17, and another woman.
Indiana authorities have said they were trying to learn whether Ms. McClellan's death could be linked to that of another 36-year-old woman. Patricia B. DeChristopher of Lawrenceburg was found dead Thursday in Switzerland County, Ind., two days after she was last reported seen.
On Monday, Sgt. Marvin Jenkins, Indiana State Police spokesman, said there is no reason to think the cases are related but no evidence ruling out any connection.
On Monday, Indiana authorities arrested two men in connection with Ms. DeChristopher's death.
