Tornado survivors: 10 stories
of the human spirit
It tore us apart for several terrifying minutes, but has united us ever since.
The tornado that struck Greater Cincinnati shortly after 5 a.m. on April 9 claimed four lives, but strengthened the resolve of thousands of others. It left in its wake a a sea of debris from which we emerged slowly but with grace.
Over the past nine days, the Enquirer has chronicled in words and pictures two extraordinary things:

And the power of us neighbors, relatives, volunteers and the one group we might not have counted on in the beginning: absolute strangers.
They are perhaps the group that has most dwindled in number. We aren't such strangers anymore.
