Woman hurt in 5th drive-by shooting

A 63-year-old woman escaped serious injury Monday when she was shot twice in a drive-by shooting in a Northside parking lot.
Cincinnati Police Sgt. Bill Halusek said Monday's shooting was the fifth such incident in Northside in the past month, but the first in which a person was wounded. The other shootings involved car windows and houses.
“Right now it appears to be a random act of violence,” Sgt. Halusek said of lastest shooting.
Carol Unger was standing in a parking lot in the 4100 block of Dane Avenue near her place of employment about 2:25 p.m. when shots fired from a white car struck her in the side of the head, Sgt. Halusek said.
Three shots were fired from what police believe was a pellet gun, and two struck the victim, who was treated at a hospital and released.
The suspects in the white car were described as two male blacks or Hispanics — one with shoulder-length black, curly hair.
“Yes, it's the same people,” Sgt. Halusek said of the suspects in the previous four shooting incidents.
