School board wants input

MIDDLETOWN Members of the Middletown/Monroe Board of Education want to hear from members of the community.
They want to know what they're doing right in the schools. And they want to know what can be improved. They want to talk about success stories and share the district's vision.
To do that, a series of community forums will be held over the next six weeks throughout the district. Board members and Superintendent Wayne Driscoll will answer questions, listen to opinions, collect information and discuss recommendations.
We know we have what it takes to overcome our challenges, but we cannot do it without (residents') help, Mr. Driscoll said. We realize that the entire community must be involved in the process to really make a difference in our schools.
The forums are set for:
Today, noon, First United Methodist Church.
Monday, 7 p.m., Mount Pleasant Activities Building.
Thursday, 7 p.m., Ed Rusk Senior Citizen Center.
May 9, 10 a.m., First Presbyterian Church fellowship hall.
May 13, 6 p.m., Monroe Elementary School gymnasium.
May 17, 7 p.m., Lemon-Monroe High School.
May 23, 11:30 a.m., Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
May 30, 1:15 p.m., Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
June 13, 12:45 p.m., Bethel AME.
