Tornado victims robbed of salvaged possessions
BY TANYA BRICKING
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Scott and Leah Casuto had enough to deal with waiting for repairs to their Montgomery home since the April 9 tornado ripped through it.
But after taking some of their treasured belongings to Mr. Casuto's parents' home in Amberley Village for safekeeping, disaster struck again.
Burglars ransacked the place Monday.
I walked in the kitchen, and the microwave was missing, said Jo-ann Casuto, Scott's mother.
She and her husband, David, were gone that morning from their home on the 8500 block of Arborcrest Drive. Someone had gone through nearly every room in the house.
We just thought, "Now what?' Jo-ann Casuto said. But we're all well, and that's what's important.
Amberley Village police are inves tigating. The crime is one of a string of recent burglaries in the area, as well as car break-ins. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Callers to the hot line, 352-3040, can remain anonymous.
