Suspended township cop resigns

BY RANDY McNUTT
The Cincinnati Enquirer

FAIRFIELD TOWNSHIP — Police Officer Donnie Greene has resigned, effective April 22, Township Administrator Kate Early said Monday.

Mr. Green had been on leave for several weeks — a disciplinary suspension that is “now rendered moot by his resignation,” Ms. Early said.

He had been suspended for sexual harassment in the department, Ms. Early said.

He had also been at odds recently with township officials over the matter of anonymous and mean-spirited letters sent to township employees. The letters, mailed over the last 15 months, were laced with words such as “butt-head,” “fool” and “incubus.” No one has been charged with sending the letters.

But in January, Mr. Greene was placed on leave after he twice failed polygraph tests and declined to speak with Butler County sheriff's deputies on the matter, township Law Director Jack Grove said.

“No evidence pointed in his direction,” Ms. Early said.
