County cop charged with shoplifting

A Hamilton County Sheriff's Department captain was arrested Tuesday and charged with shoplifting while working an off-duty security job at a department store.
Capt. William F. Cronin, 48, of the 4200 block of Endeavor Drive in Colerain Township was charged with theft in office by the sheriff's department.
Capt. Cronin was working as a security officer at the Dillard's department store in Northgate Mall on Tuesday when the theft occurred about 5:25 p.m., according to the sheriff's department,
Capt. Cronin left the store with $176 worth of men's clothing without making an attempt to pay for the items, the sheriff's department said.
The theft was captured on store surveillance video camera, the sheriff's deparment said.
