'Star Wars' ticket adventure begins

        Local theaters are pulling out all the stops for Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace.

        Tickets will be sold in advance, and one theater will show the movie continuously for 24 hours next Wednesday, the day it opens.

        • Showcase Cinemas will sell tickets beginning at 3 p.m. today for the May 19 screenings of The Phantom Menace at its theaters in Erlanger, Eastgate, Western Hills, Springdale and Kings Island. Limit: 12 per customer. The Springdale and Erlanger theaters will have a screening at 12:01 a.m. May 19.

        • Danbarry Cinemas Middletown will sell advance tickets beginning 5 p.m. today, with a limit of 12 per person.

        Danbarry also will show the movie around the clock May 19, starting at 12:01 a.m. Informa tion: (513) 422-7979.

        • Showplace 8 in Hamilton, owned by the Kerasotes chain, will put tickets on sale 3 p.m. today. Tickets must be bought in person; limit: 12 per customer. (513) 867-8166.

        • The Midway Theatre in Bethel will sell advance tickets starting at 6:30 p.m. today. They will cost $5 each, $1 more than the walk-up price. 734-4001.

        Showplace 8 and Midway will debut the film at 12:01 a.m. May 19, as will Walnut Theatre in Lawrenceberg, (812) 537-4693, and the Princess 4 Theatres in Oxford, (513) 523-2187.
