Teacher suspended in nude photos case
MONTGOMERY A Sycamore Junior High School teacher has been relieved of his duties while Montgomery police investigate allegations about nude computer pictures.
Ron Renshaw, an industrial arts teacher with the district for 27 years, is on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation, according to a statement from Superintendent Bruce Armstrong. Mr. Renshaw could not be reached Tuesday for comment.
The incident at the school involved some type of nude photos, Montgomery Police Chief Donald McGlothin said Tuesday. He would not comment further until the investigation is closed.
Lincoln Heights police investigating death
LINCOLN HEIGHTS olice are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in his apartment Monday.
The body of Lenardo Crooks, 40, was found inside 641 Jackson St. on Monday, police said. They would not comment upon what may have caused his death, or what led to his discovery.
Officers only would say they are investigating. The Hamilton County coroner's office had not ruled on Mr. Crooks' death Tuesday night.
Burned man rescued in Clifton fire
Cincinnati firefighters rescued a 21-year-old man from a roof in Clifton at about 3 a.m. Tuesday as the man fled from a two-alarm fire.
Rodriquez Madaris was in good condition at University Hospital Tuesday after suffering second-degree burns on 35 percent of his body. The cause of the fire, at 2250 Wheeler St., is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $30,000.
Police: Woman stole neighbor's mail
ST.BERNARD A 28-year-old Bernard woman stole her neighbor's mail in an attempt cover up the fact she had burglarized her neighbor's apartment and stolen her personal checks, authorities say.
On Tuesday, police charged Tunisha Sanders, 28, of the 4600 block of Tower Avenue, with theft, forgery and four counts of burglary.
According to police, Ms. Sanders entered her neighbor's apartment while she was at work at least four times between Jan. 1 and April 29 and stole a number of personal checks. Ms. Sanders forged her neighbor's signature and made the checks payable to herself, police said.
In attempt to keep her neighbor from noticing the missing checks, Ms. Sanders stole her neighbor's bank statements with her canceled checks from her mailbox, police said.
Ms. Sanders' boyfriend, Brian Danner, 28, of the Tower address, was arrested and charged with forgery for cashing one of the stolen checks, police said.
State education boss to visit Cincy area
Susan Tave Zelman, Ohio superintendent of public instruction, will visit schools in the Cincinnati Public, Mount Healthy and North
west districts Thursday.
A reception from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Mayerson Academy, 2650 Highland Ave., Corryville, is open to the public.
Ms. Zelman will tour Bloom Middle School in the West End, the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Over-the-Rhine, Houston Elementary in Colerain Township and eMount Healthy High School.
"Back the Blue' party Saturday in Winton Place
A Back the Blue party will end Police Memorial Week on Saturday in Winton Place with a community fund-raiser.
Cincinnati Police Chief Thomas Streicher Jr. is expected to meet with people at the festival, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Queen City Kroger, 4777 Kenard Ave.
The event, sponsored by Kroger and Q102 FM, will include food and music. Donations go directly to local law enforcement.
One dead, one missing in Lake Erie sinkings
TOLEDO, Ohio One person died and another was missing in separate boating accidents on Lake Erie on Tuesday afternoon.
Each boat carried five people and went down within about two miles of each other, said U.S. Coast Guard Chief James Bordell.
