Staying in
Critic's picks: Joey's (Matt LeBlanc) luck runs out in Las Vegas, where his first starring role in a feature film goes bust on Friends (8 p.m., Channels 5, 22). TV critic John Kiesewetter also says stay tuned to NBC for Frasier (9 p.m.) when Daphne (Janes Leeves) gets engaged, and a special Thursday Mad About You with Carol Burnett and Carroll O'Connor (9:30) and a new ER (10).
Web site of the day: ShindigZ.com, an on-line party super store, is the brainchild of busy Illinois mother Wendy Moyle. It's one-stop shopping for inventive party and special-occasion decorations and favors birthdays, weddings, Mardi Gras. Try www.shindigz.com
What's in stores today
Peppermint? Passe. Minty breath is so yesterday. Rembrandt's Dazzling BreathDrops are now available in six flavors. Choose from original mint, peppermint, wintergreen, spearmint (OK . . . maybe a hint of mint still rules), cinnamon and lemon cool. They come in matching colors, too, as if that matters inside your mouth. About 89 cents for a 6.25-milliliter bottle.
Enquiring minds
Futuristic degree: Here's what managed care hath wrought: a doctor with a business degree. The University of Cincinnati is offering an MD/MBA program that allows medical students to earn their master's in business administration. The aim, UC says, is doctors with a greater understanding of economics, finance, marketing and management. With special training in convincing insurers to pay? Just a thought.
