GET TO IT

A guide to help make your day

Going out
        • Benefit concert: Folk singer John McCutcheon comes to Raymond Walters College in Blue Ash tonight for a concert benefiting Blue Ash residents who suffered property damage in the April tornado. Music starts 8 p.m. $30-$50. 745-5705.

        • Everything Greek: The 25th Annual Panegyri Greek Festival starts today, 5 p.m.-midnight (there's a kick-off celebration noon on Fountain Square). Food and fun continue 3 p.m.-midnight Saturday and 1-9 p.m. Sunday at Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 7000 Winton Road in Finneytown. $1 or one canned good. 591-0030.

        • Dueling bands: The final three bands of the 97Xposure local band competition — Rockets To Mars, the Simpletons and Thistle — play Bogart's in Corryville. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. All-ages show. $4.97. 281-8400.

        • Book sale: F&W Publications Warehouse Sale will be 4-9 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the warehouse, Dana and Woodburn avenues in Evanston (across from Xavier University). Topics: writing, photography, music, theater, woodworking, home improvement/decorating, crafts and more. 531-2690.

        • Cycling weekend: More than 1,000 competitors are in Greater Cincinnati this weekend for the U.S. Elite and Junior National Road Cycling Championships. Preliminaries today. Details: www.usacycling.org/road and in Sports.

STAYING IN
        • Critic's picks: The end of the world is near. Procter & Gamble's Another World wraps up 35 years on NBC at 1 p.m. today (Channel 5).

TV Critic John Kiesewetter also says that fans of Stars Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace should catch Ewan McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi) as a reckless British stockbroker in Rogue Trader (8 p.m., Cinemax).

What's in stores today
        • Special issue: Teen People's special All-Star Yearbook issue is a hoot. Check out real yearbook photos of Brandy, Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow and Leonardo DiCaprio. Notice a certain sameness about the mag's advertising? It's all by the milk people (that's lots of white mustaches). $3.99 on newsstands.

Harried with children
        • Fun with puppets: Join the crowd of kids for “Puppet Show,” presented by the Sharonville Puppet Club. 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sharonville Regional Library, 10980 Thornview Drive. Ages 3-6. It's free. 369-6049.

Planning ahead
        • A day away: Choose your wurst at Sausage Fest, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday (and Sunday) at Silverglade & Sons in Anderson Township. More than 20 varieties of grilled sausage will be served, along with roasted corn, potato salad and lemonade. 231-6483.

        • 48 hours out: Browse the works of local artists at the Fort Thomas Fine Art Festival, noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Mess Hall in Tower Park. 441-3838.

        • 72 hours 'til Monday: The Average White Band plays Electra (formerly Sycamore Gardens, Over- the-Rhine), 8 p.m. $15. 562-4949.
