        • TV picks: In 1956, a dead-end mission began in Cuba. The invading force had 82 men, the government had 46,000. Somehow, the rebels won. A little more than two years later, Fidel Castro's forces took control. Tha time is chronicled in People's Century (9 p.m., Channel 48).

        • Web site of the day: GeoCities, with about 4 million members, claims to be “the largest community on the Web.” What it does is provide free Web pages, message boards and chat. Members are “homesteaders,” and sites are organized in “neighborhoods. Check out www.geocities.com

        • Chat line: Dustin Diamond of Saved by the Bell will be talking on America Online, 7 p.m. today.

Brand spanking new
        • Minty lipstick: Elizabeth Arden's new Lip Lip Hooray SPF 15 lipstick ($16) is a collection of 20 new shades that promise to help fight bad breath. A dash of mint and menthol, along with an ingredient called zinc citrate helps control bad breath by neutralizing sulfur compounds produced in the mouth. It will be in stores by mid-July.

        • Tickets go on sale today for the Fifth Third Bank Broadway Series' 1999-2000 season: Titanic, Nov. 9-21; Jekyll & Hyde, Dec. 7-19; Peter Pan, Dec. 28-Jan. 9; The Civil War, Jan. 18-30; Cabaret, Feb. 22-March 5; and Fame — The Musical.
