Taxi driver charged in fatal crash
The Cincinnati Enquirer
A taxi driver whose passenger died after a May 13 crash was charged with vehicular homicide Wednesday.
Cincinnati police charged Charles B. Devereaux, 43, of the 6600 block of Montgomery Road, Kennedy Heights, in the death of Leroy Lucas, 75.
Mr. Lucas, of the 800 block of West Liberty Street, Over-the-Rhine, was a passenger in a Yellow Cab that lost control, crossed the center line and struck a bus on State Avenue in Fairmount, police said. Mr. Lucas, who was a front-seat passenger in the cab driven by Mr. Devereaux, died as a result of his injuries in the crash.
Police said the tires on the cab were in extremely poor condition.
