Man arrested in shooting of teen

A man from California has been arrested in the shooting of a teen-age girl early Friday in Springdale.
Daniel Smith, 21, is in the Hamilton County Justice Center after being charged with felonious assault, according to police records. He is accused of shooting the girl in the neck during an argument.
Mr. Smith was arrested about 5 a.m. at the Econo Lodge on Chester Road in Sharonville.
According to police, Mr. Smith and the girl, who was not being identified Friday night, were arguing at the intersection of Audie Court and Castro Lane about 12:10 a.m., when the girl was shot in the neck. The shooter ran away from the scene.
The girl was taken to Mercy Hospital of Fairfield, where she was in the intensive care unit Friday night in stable condition.
