Two jailed in robbery, attack on elderly man
The Cincinnati Enquirer
A Toledo pair are in jail accused of a robbery attack on an elderly man in a Colerain Township restaurant restroom.
Pyon Simmons, 18, and a female runaway juvenile, face charges of aggravated robbery, receiving stolen property and possession of criminal tools. They are accused of using a stun gun to try to take the wallet of a 72-year-old Camp Washington man Saturday afternoon.
The victim, Everette Sharp, 72, of the 1200 block of Bates Avenue, was taken to Franciscan Hospital-Mount Airy Campus where he was in fair condition Saturday night.
According to sheriff's deputies, the victim entered the men's room at the Old Country Buffet on Colerain Avenue about 1:50 p.m. when he was attacked. With the juvenile serving as a lookout, Mr. Simmons is accused of using a stun gun to incapacitate the victim, police said.
The attacker then unsuccessfully tried to take the victim's wallet, before running from the restaurant with the juvenile lookout and escaping in a nearby car. Police spotted the car on Galbraith Road and arrested Mr. Simmons and the juvenile, who police were not naming Saturday night. The car had been reported stolen in Toledo, deputies said.
The incident remains under investigation, deputies said.
