Where the WKRP actors are now
Gary Sandy: Has appeared in more than 500 plays, including A Streetcar Named Desire at the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati and Pirates of Penzance on Broadway. Also starred in Barnum, Sweet Bird of Youth, Damn Yankees, The Music Man and Grease. The Dayton, Ohio, native is building a home on 800 acres outside Louisville.
Howard Hesseman: Starred in his own ABC series, Head of the Class (1986-90). Since WKRP, he has made more than two dozen films, including Doctor Detroit, Police Academy II, Call Me Anna and On the Second Day of Christmas.
Gordon Jump: Reprised his role as Arthur Carlson on the syndicated revival of WKRP in Cincinnati (1991-93). Had regular roles on Growing Pains (produced by Dan Guntzelman, a Cincinnati native and former WKRP writer) and Sister Kate. Has been Maytag's lonely repairman for 12 years.
Tim Reid: Has been the busiest WKRP alumnus, starring in Hugh Wilson's Frank's Place, Simon & Simon, Snoops, Teachers Only and Sister, Sister. Produces Showtime's Linc sitcom at his New Millennium Studios in Petersburg, Va.
Loni Anderson: Has starred in two sitcoms, Easy Street and Nurses. Film credits include 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain, Night at the Roxbury, White Hot: The Mysterious Murder of Thelma Todd and a voice for All Dogs Go to Heaven. Since WKRP, married and divorced Burt Reynolds.
Richard Sanders: Reprised his role as Les Nessman on the syndicated WKRP in Cincinnati and starred in the syndicated You Can't Take it With You. Film credits include Simon & Simon: In Trouble Again, Lover's Lane and Black Circle Boys.
Frank Bonner: Reprised his role as Herb Tarlek on the syndicated WKRP.Was a regular on Just the 10 of Us,created by Mr. Guntzelman. Has directed episodes of Frank's Place, The Famous Teddy Z, Harry and the Hendersons and City Guys.
Jan Smithers: Has no movie or TV credits in the past 10 years, after appearing in Legmen, The Love Tapes and Mr. Nice Guy in the 1980s. Married and divorced James Brolin since WKRP.
Hugh Wilson: Followed WKRP with two CBS series, Frank's Place and The Famous Teddy Z. Commuted from his Virginia home in recent years to direct The First Wives Club, Guarding Tess, Blast From the Past, Police Academy and Dudley Do-Right (due out in late summer).
