Girl, 3, stable after near drowning
The Cincinnati Enquirer
MONROE TOWNSHIP A Monroe Township 3-year-old was in stable condition at Clermont Mercy Hospital on Tuesday night after nearly drowning in a pool at a mobile home park, a hospital spokeswoman said.
A Clermont County dispatcher said the girl slipped into the pool at Tall Timbers Mobile Home Park, in the 2700 block of Lindale-Mount Holly Road, around 7 p.m. before being pulled out by a family friend.
Authorities said the girl had just gone to the bathroom at her family's trailer home, which is less than 100 yards from the fenced-off pool. After leaving the bathroom, authorities said, the girl slipped passed her mother, Ramona Reinert, who, along with the friend, was waiting for the girl.
Moments later, they noticed the girl at the bottom of the pool. After rescuing the girl from the pool, the friend began CPR. Upon arrival of emergency officials, the girl was crying and coughing.
Tuesday's incident marked the latest in more than a half-dozen drownings and near drownings in Greater Cincinnati over the past several weeks.
