Best of the Fest
Queen City Blues Fest '99: Kick-off at noon today on Fountain Square. Music starts 5 p.m. at Sawyer Point's P&G Pavilion. Tonight's lineup includes showman Guitar Shorty and blues belter Alberta Adams. But the not-to-miss set belongs to show-closer Chris Cain, whose deep voice and deep-blues guitar mark him as one of the best young stars on today's scene. Free. 684-4227.

TV picks: Round 'em up! A couple more canceled shows return with new episodes for summer, CBS' Magnificent Seven (9 p.m., Channels 12, 7) and UPN's Civil War-era Legacy set in Lexington, Ky. (8 p.m., Channel 25).
