Principal coming out of retirement for one-year stint at Donovan

BY MIRIAM SMITH
The Cincinnati Enquirer

LEBANON — Mike McClusky is coming out of retirement — if only for a year — to take the helm at Donovan Intermediate School.

Mr. McClusky, of Middle town, worked with the Franklin City Schools for 30 years before retiring as an elementary school principal in 1997.

It's a one-year stint at Donovan, because former Principal Terri Tribbe is taking a one-year leave of absence to work on a doctorate. The school board approved Mr. McClusky's hiring Monday.

“He's got the perfect personality to take over the building for a year,” said district spokeswoman Carole Dorn.

At Kings, two new princi pals are expected to be hired by that school board tonight.

Gerald Gasper would be leaving Spaulding Middle School in the Goshen district in Clermont County to take over the post at Columbia Elementary School this fall. He would replace Mike Lolli, who resigned to become principal at Middletown City School's Wildwood Elementary School.

The board also is expected to hire Jason Jackson as assistant principal at Kings Junior High School. He has been a teacher with Lakota Schools for three years and was previously a teacher at Madison Local for two years.

Jim Acton, former assistant principal at Kings Junior High, will move up to principal.
