Storms sap power in 200 homes
Defective cable cut lights briefly elsewhere
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Storms and defective equipment caused a smattering of power outages in several Tristate neighborhoods.
Scattered thunderstorms with high winds caused power outages Monday evening in parts of Butler and Cler mont counties. Cinergy estimated about 200 customers in those areas lost power. The company was working on the repairs late Monday.
A larger power outage, caused by a defective cable, knocked out power to about 2,000 customers in parts of Kenwood, Montgomery, Sycamore Township, Pleasant Ridge and Amberley Village. Cinergy said the cable was replaced and most of the affected customers had power within an hour of the outage.
Cinergy said the larger outage was not weather-related.
Forecasters called for scattered thunderstorms throughout the Tristate and light rain throughout Monday night.
