A man found dead in a truck in Florida was identified Monday as Walnut Hills resident Rodney Williams.
Sheriff's officials in Hernando County compared fingerprint records with the Hamilton County Sheriff's office to identify Mr. Williams, 40. His last known Cincinnati address was 3067 Walter Ave.
The Hernando County Coroner's office is awaiting toxicology reports to determine the cause of death, but the coroner's office ruled out death by stabbing, firearm or blunt force.
Mr. Williams' body was found July 13 in the hatchback of a 1988 Dodge Daytona. The vehicle was parked in a Circle K store about 11/2 miles from Interstate 75, near the western Florida town of Brooksville.
A patron complained of an odor coming from the Dodge Daytona, which had been parked there for at least two days, according to the Hernando Today newspaper. Authorities searched the car and found Mr. Williams' badly decomposed body.
Mr. Williams was reported missing June 7, according to the Hernando County Sheriff's office. He was convicted of misdemeanor theft in January, according to Hamilton County court records. He spent two days jailed at the Hamilton County Justice Center and paid a $63 fine.
No other details about Mr. Williams were available.
