Hamilton man indicted in death
The Cincinnati Enquirer
HAMILTON Manuel Ramirez-Garcia, accused of shooting a man to death in Hamilton, was indicted Tuesday on a murder charge by a Butler County grand jury.
Jose Juan Hernandez, 30, of Hamilton was shot June 25 in the 700 block of Buckeye Street and died at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Police arrested Mr. Ramirez-Garcia, 20, of Hamilton, the next day. They said they found what they thought was the handgun used to shoot Mr. Hernandez.
A woman testified at a July 1 hearing that she saw Mr. Ramirez-Garcia fire three shots into Mr. Hernandez. Police said the suspect at first said he shot Mr. Hernandez in self-defense, but later denied shooting him.
Mr. Ramirez-Garcia could be sentenced to 15 years to life, and three more years because a gun was used.
