Strickland to talk in Fairfield
Democrats hold labor picnic

FAIRFIELD U.S. Rep. Ted Strickland, D-Lucasville, will be the featured speaker at the Butler County Democratic Party's Democratic-Labor Picnic on Sunday.
The picnic will be 2-6 p.m. at the United Auto Workers (UAW) Local 674 Park, 1233 Symmes Road. Mr. Strickland is a member of the House Education and Labor Committee and the House Small Business Committee.
He was first elected to Con gress in 1992. He lost a re-election bid in 1994 but won the 1996 and 1998 elections.
Other speakers at the picnic will be Butler County Prosecutor John Holcomb; Jeff Potts, chairman of the Butler-Warren UAW Community Action Program; and Lloyd Mahaffey, a UAW regional director.
There is no admission fee.
Food and drinks will be provided at the picnic, although participants are asked to bring covered dishes.
There will be games for adults and children.
