Local firm ranks high in billings

BY RANDY TUCKER
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Springdale-based Hensley Segal Rentschler's billings for 1998 pushed it to fifth place among the largest business-to-business marketing communications firms in the country, the company said Wednesday.

With billings last year of $51.6 million, Hensley moved up three spots from No. 8 in the previous year.

Hensley derived its ranking from a list of largest U.S. communications firms published annually in Advertising Age's Business Marketing magazine, a trade journal.

This month's issue ranked Hensley 48th among the 233 U.S. agencies ranked in the magazine report.

But that report included many agencies that serve more than just business clients.

Hensley said it ranks No. 5 among business-to-business communications firms only.

“Being ranked in the top five is an exciting milestone for Hensley,” said Richard Segal Jr., the agency's managing director. “It's a quantifiable measurement of what we've accomplished in our industry.”

Hensley and its work have been featured in Business- Week, The New York Times, The Washington Times and other financial and industry publications.
