TRISTATE MARKET SPOTLIGHT

Trading in Rex electronics booms

Rex Stores Corp. rose $2.183/4, or 6.4 percent, to $36.25 and traded as high as $37.50 on Wednesday.

Trading volume reached 356,100, compared with the 13-week average daily volume of 63,105 shares.

An article in Wednesday's Wall Street Journal said the Dayton-based electronics seller has been profitably selling electronics online this year.

Taking as many as 100 orders daily for such products as radar detectors and televisions, the chain has become one of the largest retail players.
