P&G to donate $500,000 for earthquake victims
Procter & Gamble Co. said Thursday it is donating $500,000 to relief efforts for victims of the earthquake in Turkey.
Cincinnati-based P&G has four operations in Turkey: a headquarters in Istanbul, a laundry plant in Sefakoy, a paper plant in Gebze and a distribution center in Sekerpinar. None of the sites sustained significant damage, and there were no reported casualties among P&G's 1,200 employees in Turkey, management said.
But the company has a policy of supporting the communities where it does business, said Durk Jager, P&G's chief executive.
