TRISTATE MARKET SPOTLIGHT

BICC General jumps 9.7 percent

BICCGeneral rose $1.25, or 9.7 percent, to close Thursday at $14.121/4.

The stock traded as high as $14.25, on a daily volume of 180,700 shares. The 13-week average daily trading volume is 185,551 shares.

The Highland Heights company — formerly General Cable Corp. — makes and sells wires and cables for the communications and electrical markets.

“We are not aware of any reason why the stock price jumped today,” said Chris Virgulak, the company's chief financial officer. “There hasn't been any announcement out of the company that would result in that kind of impact.”
