No candidates for 9 posts in Warren

LEBANON — What if they held an election, but nobody ran?
After Thursday's filing deadline, there are still nine open positions across Warren County that have drawn no candidates.
The positions going begging this fall are council seats and clerk-treasurer spots affecting five villages.
The list includes:
• South Lebanon, where no one filed for village clerk-treasurer.
• Butlerville, which has no candidates for clerk-treasurer or two open council seats.
• Corwin, which has no candidates for two open council seats.
• Harveysburg, which needs a clerk-treasurer.
• Pleasant Plain, which has no candidates for its clerk-treasurer spot. (Only one person has filed for two open council seats.)
Vacancies in elected positions are addressed by a community's charter, and council members usually appoint someone to fill the seats, said Beverly Moore, director of the Warren County Board of Elections.
