The Cincinnati Enquirer
HAMILTON A police officer suffered minor injuries in a scuffle with a teen who is to face charges of stealing a car.
At around 10 p.m. Thursday, Officer Todd Hurst tried to stop a car at Vista Drive and Hancock Avenue, when two occupants jumped from the rolling vehicle and tried to run away. Officer Hurst captured the driver, a 16-year-old, but was injured while tackling the youth.
Officer Hurst required stitches for a cut on his head.
The driver's 16-year-old companion was found soon afterward.
The driver was to face charges in connection with the encounter with Officer Hurst.
Both youths were being charged in connection with the theft of the vehicle, a 1983 Chevrolet Camaro that had been reported stolen from a service station, Stevens Auto Top, 122 S. Erie Blvd.
The car's owner had dropped off the car to have work done on it, a police report said.
