Lawsuit charges abuse of teen inmate
Guard acquitted in criminal case
BY SHEILA McLAUGHLIN
The Cincinnati Enquirer
A day after Timothy Million Jr. was acquitted of charges that he had sex with a 15-year-old inmate at Warren County Juvenile Detention Center, the same allegations surfaced Wednesday in a $2 million lawsuit.
This time, the girl and her mother allege that Warren County officials put the teen in a position to be sexually abused last fall when they hired Mr. Million, a convicted felon, without conducting a thorough criminal background check.
This is really to force the government to do the right thing, said William Gustavson, the teen's lawyer.
What a horrible situation where you have an at-risk child placed in a facility where the guards are heinous criminals. It really is a terrible tragedy. Those are the types of children we should be affording the greatest protection.
The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in Cincinnati, names Warren County, Juvenile Court Judge Mark Clark,
