Police discover growing operation
The Cincinnati Enquirer
RUSSELLVILLE, Ohio Brown County sheriff's deputies responded to a burglary call early Wednesday and discovered a large, sophisticated indoor marijuana growing operation.
Sheriff Windell Crawford said several thousand dollarsworth of high-grade marijuana was confiscated, one of the office's larger drug busts.
Deputies arrived at the home in the 9600 block of Ohio 125, southeast of Russellville, about 2:30 a.m. They found a man outside the home.
After speaking to residents in the house, deputies determined Matthew Adams, 31, of Beavercreek, Ohio, had alleg edly removed several items from the home and allegedly threatened the life of a woman and her three children who lived there.
Mr. Adams was subsequently charged with aggravated burglary and possession of marijuana, the sheriff's office said.
While speaking to the woman in the house, deputies observed what appeared to be a large number of marijuana plants inside the residence.
A search warrant was obtained and deputies discovered two large rooms set up for an indoor marijuana-growing operation, the sheriff's office said.
The walls of the rooms were covered with foil-covered boards. Large lights were suspended from the ceiling, several fans and humidifiers hooked to timers were in operation and there were several bags of fer tilizer in the rooms.
Deputies confiscated a 5-gallon bucket of picked marijuana and numerous bags containing loose marijuana.
Christina Boles, 32, of the Ohio 125 address was charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, the sheriff's office said.
Russellville is 60 miles east of Cincinnati.
