Staying in
        • TV picks: Emmy-winner Christine Baranski plays a fire-breathing radio psychologist, Dr. Nora, who scorches anyone who gets in her way in a Frasier repeat from May (9 p.m., Channels 5, 22).

        • TV Critic John Kiesewetter also is juiced about two reruns — when Uncle Junior (Garrett Morris) rewires the hotel on The Jamie Foxx Show (8:30 p.m., Channel 64), and the ER staff struggles through a power outage (10 p.m., Channels 5, 22) from May.

        • Web site of the day: Go to www.newscientist.com/lastword/gadgets.html for explanations of such things as the weird shape of rooftop TV antennas, how smoke detectors detect smoke, and why there is no microwave cooler (you'd have to make the food itself radiate microwaves to cool down).

What's in stores today
        • In the kisser: Want a pout that puts Kim Basinger, Naomi Campbell and Mick Jagger to shame? Joey New York claims to have an answer that doesn't require needles, collagen or a plastic surgeon. Super Duper Lips is a gel made lactic acid and honey that's supposed to plump up the kisser. The kit ($25) contains one ounce of the gel and flesh-toned lip pencil for lining and defining. (800) 563-9691.
