Police seek five suspects in jewelry store robbery

Police are looking for five people they say smashed a display case at Osterman Jewelers in Tri-County Mall, took several Rolex watches, then drove off in a stolen car.
The theft happened about 8:45 p.m. Wednesday near closing time, said Springdale Police Detective Andrew Davis. Four men and a woman entered the store and smashed a display case with a hammer, he said. They reached into the case and took several watches.
Witnesses described the suspects to police and provided the license-plate number of the Buick station wagon used to flee, Detective Davis said. As police were running the tags, a JC Penney employee reported the car stolen.
The number of watches taken and damage to the store had not been determined Thursday afternoon.
